Native Americans made artifacts from peyote and other plants

Native Americans in the Rio Grande area, now located in the southernmost tip of south Texas, collected mescaline containing peyote buttons and manufactured peyote effigy sculptures. The specimens retrieved contained a mix of ground peyote and other plant materials.
