The Big Book on Distillation, written by Hieronymus Brunschwig, was published in 1512. It contained descriptions of different distillation methods as well as dozens of illustrations of distilling apparatus. The book was very successful and became an inspiration for future writers. It was translated into many languages, with the first English translation published in 1527.
