Coffee makes its first appearance in Venice, Italy

This busy port city was a haven for the traders of the world, allowing them to exchange their unique treasures. At first, coffee was considered a rare exotic find and made available only to the very wealthy, and was sometimes sold at premier lemonade stands for medicinal purposes.
