The Narcotic Drugs Amendment Bill 2016 is passed in Australia

The Australian government passes the Narcotic Drugs Amendment Bill 2016 in February of that year. The bill amends the Narcotic Drugs Act 1967, establishing licensing and permitting schemes for the cultivation and production of cannabis and cannabis resin for medicinal and scientific purposes. It also enable the secretary to authorize a state or territory government agency to undertake cultivation and production of cannabis and manufacture of medicinal cannabis products.
