The FDA approves new formulation for OxyContin

In 2010, The FDA approves a new formulation for OxyContin, as a response to the harms associated with the misuse of the drug. As noted by the FDA, "the reformulated OxyContin is intended to prevent the opioid medication from being cut, broken, chewed, crushed or dissolved to release more medication".
